There have been a few of these mammoth gigapixel images, but none have really warrented such a huge file – until now!
What could possible need such detail to portray, how about the tallest mountain on earth, Everest! This epic panoramic image of Everest and it’s surroundings was created in Spring 2012 by GlacierWorks.
Taken from the Pumori viewpoint, it also shows the Khumbu glacier, the first, and one of the most dangerous stages in the climb to the peak. The yellow dots underneath it at the bottom centre of the shot are the tents that make up Everest Base Camp.
