Today Twitter disabled the abilty to view Instagram images directly on your stream, further fueling rumours that the relationship is breaking down between the two social media giants.

Instagram has been expanding in recent weeks with the launch of profile pages, apparently with the goal to keep users on their own platform rather than twitter and other sites.

The move has also fuelled the rumour that like Google+, Twitter is developing it’s own image filter functionality in time for the holiday rush. So watch this space!
