It’s got to be the crème de la crème piece for photography collectors, as next month Ansel Adams very own 4×5 Arca Swiss camera is up for auction.
Still in working order (not that the new owner will be trying it!) the camera was used between 1964 and 1968, Adams had then given it to his assistant Liliane DeCock, who left it to her son after she passed away last year.
The guide price is $300,000, but we wouldn’t be surprised if bidding surpassed expectations since this is the first of Adams cameras to ever hit auction. The lot also includes prints and a range of old leicas.
So if you are in the market check out the Official Auction Site.
