Kodak expected to emerge from bankruptcy

Kodak is officially seeking approval from US courts to emerge from the bankrupcy protection is has been in since they filed for Chapter 11 in early 2012.

However, the companies plans for re-organisation spells the end for Kodak as a film manufacturer. Instead they will be focusing on the commercial imaging market, including packaging, functional printing and professional services – areas Kodak believes are growing.

“It will be enormously valuable for the company to get out of Chapter 11, and begin to regain its position in the pantheon of American business,” the US courts have said in a recent statement.
