A Japanese design company has announced their brand new photo booth concept, that creates 3D figures of it’s subjects.

The company called PARTY has announced that they will be testing the concept in its first commercial run with a pop-up store called Omote 3D. To create your mini 3D model you will be required to stand perfectly still for 15 minutes while a scan of your body is made. The 3D printer then makes a 10cm or 20cm version of you.

At $250 for the smallest version however and the 15 minute exposure, this technology may not an instant commercial success. However, it gives a glimpse of where the technology can go once made more practical and more economical.
